Gas Up

The closest gas station to us is in Study Butte, 35 miles south. Please gas up in Alpine, or Study Butte before arriving.

Stock Up

Our closest “convenience store” is conveniently 19 miles away at Jack Ass Flats. Make sure to stock up on snacks, drinks, ice, etc before arriving. Ice is available at the lodge during regular business only.

Layer

The desert climate can change dramatically in one day. Dress in layers. Nights are cold and days can be hot.

Water

We do not provide water. In the desert you should always have at least a gallon of water per person per day stocked in case of emergency. Stay hydrated! The dry heat of the desert can fool you. Also, feel free to water our plants when emptying your ice chest!

Phone Service

I have yet to find a carrier that gets reliable reception in our area. Download what you need beforehand and enjoy the silence! Free Wifi is available at the Bad Rabbit Cafe, located at Terlingua Ranch Lodge just 3 miles up Terlingua Ranch Road.

Bathhouse

We do not have showers at the property (yet!). However, the lodge has a bath house where you can take a private shower for a nominal cost. They also have public restrooms available in case you are not comfortable with using the composting toilet.

Swimming Pool

Guests may purchase a day pass for access to the swimming pool at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge. You will need to rent a key at the Lodge office between the hours of 8am to 5pm. The pool is open seasonally from March thru October.

Laundry Facilities

Terlingua Ranch Lodge has coin operated self service washers and dryers available for use from noon until 10pm daily. The lodge office usually has detergent for sale as well.

• Queen sheets/pillow cases (unless linen service has been purchased)

• Extra Blankets

• Trash Bags

• Drinking Water

• Fire wood

• Propane heater + propane (depending on weather)

• Flashlights, head lamps and/or lanterns

• Camp Chairs
